Brembo Big Brake Kit pictures

The Brembo BBK installation became a bit of a problem. Brembo was out of stock on all colors except silver. So we decided to custom paint the calipers. The only question: what color do we paint them. I talked it over with a very good painter friend of mine, and he warned to avoid RED at all costs because it would clash with the color of the car.

Sam at Auto Talent suggested Lamborghini Yellow -- and I was pretty scared about that. But I decided to go for it. In the pictures, the color looks brighter than it really is. In person, the color is very tame. It was definitely a good choice for the Melbourne Red BMW.

The front brakes went on without any problems. However, the rear wheels would not fit over the brakes without spacers -- the wheels were not ordered correctly. Since the guys at Wheels Boutique would owe me a set of rear wheels to fix the problem, I decided I didn't like the 540R's after all. That's when I decided to order an entirely new set of HRE P40's -- which suited the car much better than the 540R's.

Melbourne Red w/ HRE 540R was the previous entry in this blog.

My decision to replace the HRE 540R's with HRE P40's is the next entry in this blog.
